The passcode to Stan's lab is the alchemist symbols for composition, pulverize, digestion, and fusion. This code is also seen at the beginning of Journal #3 in Tourist Trapped.
gadgets and gizmos
The constantly working gadgets in Stan's lab seem to be futuristic. Many fans believe they were built by Stanley, before he disappeared.

Apparently, there's a TV screen in Stan's lab, which, according to some theorists, comes out through the totem pole. Stan could be spying on Gravity Falls's residents.
Stan's tattoo on desk
The design of Stan's tattoo is seen lighting up the side of his desk.

Stan keeps a picture on his desk of his great-nephew and niece. It shows that he genuinely does care for them.

Stan says this at the end of the episode (though some people heard it as "we have them all", the international versions clearly show that Stan is saying "I have them all.") The obvious questions here are what he is going to do with the portal, and why he built it in the first place.

Well, we know what the portal does. This cryptogram on the page in Journal 3, though, is very vague. We have no idea why Stan opened the portal, or what he wants to do with it.
