I'd fire all of you if I could.

Why can't Stan fire any of them? Dipper and Mabel are obviously family. If Soos is family, that would explain why he can't be fired. And Wendy? My best guess is that her father would get mad. Or maybe, as revealed in Gideon Rises, it's because she would have to move away and Stan needs her for some reason...maybe to stop Bill?

Like the guy who was writing it mysteriously disappeared.

I think this shows that the guy who was writing the journal DID mysteriously disappear. It points to the theory that Stanley Pines wrote it.

Gold Chains for Old Men magazine

Gold is an important substance in Gravity Falls. Stan tells everyone to bury gold in Boyz Crazy. Bill tells Gideon to buy gold before leaving. Stan and Blubs wear gold necklaces.

My wisdom is both a blessing and a curse.

First of all, what happened to Soos' wisdom in later episodes? This points to Bill's statements that "You're a lot more clever than you look. Especially the fat one." and "The handyman knows more than you think." (That last one is in Rumble's Revenge.)

Soos! The portable toilets are clogged again!

Let it sink in. Two...three...four...

Wendy! I need to borrow the golf cart so I can save my sister from a zombie!!!

This is Dipper's first, and I think his most straightforward, interaction with Wendy. He grinned afterwards because he just managed to talk to his crush without any hesitation at all, a rarity in future episodes.

Tree with notches

When Dipper is driving the golf cart towards Mabel's panicked screams, he drives past a tree stump with notches, like a castle turret. How could this have happened?

Yeesh! You two get hit by a bus or something? / Where were you yesterday? - I got hit by a bus!

In the first instance, Stan brings up being hit by a bus and laughs. In the second, Lazy Susan brings it up and Stan laughs. Odd.
